In 1974 a family vanishes without a trace from a small island called Valo, the table was set for Easter dinner but the table remained forever empty. The only member of the family  to be found alive was a one year old baby,Ebba.Years later when she returns to the island, married and childless, someone will try to scare them away.

The only reason I go back to the Hedstorm series is Lackberg’s ability to create a good mystery,in every other aspect her books are…meh.Character wise?Don’t get me started!Erica,Patrick Hedstrom’s wife,is one of the most annoying, self centred, immature women in fiction.Especially in this book she gave a recital of immaturity. One bad decision after another, one nearly got her killed. She is horrible wife, bad housewife and oh my god a bad bad mother.

I know this isn’t a proper review but she made me so angry! Her husband a spineless creature did a good job solving the case, even though i feel like the solution just came about and the “clues” were stupudily unimportant.

3 stars.
